JFK Assassination Theory

For years people have believed in what seemed to be fictional ideas, but recently many of these beliefs, seem to be a reality.  Conspiracy theories have been around for a long time, when events happen, or appear to be happening; people create beliefs about these certain event. Popular conspiracies that are around in the modern day consist of Area 51, the 9/11 attacks, and that the moon landings were faked by NASA.  All of these have been around for several years, but I’m here to talk about one that has been around for over 50 years, the JFK assassination. Many believe that Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK twice on November 22nd, 1963, but there are some that believe that it was set up buy a much higher power, the government of our very own country.  What is new about this specific theory is that the US government announced that they will be releasing more information about the assassination in 2030.  Now perhaps this is just a myth, the facts add up to Oswald committing the crime, but perhaps there is more that meets the eye.
President John F. Kennedy was shot on November 22nd, 1963, once in the head, and once in the neck while riding in a limo in Dallas, Texas.  The Supreme Court ruled that Lee Harvey Oswald committed the crime, and that no one else was involved in the assassination.  But in a recent poll taken, less than a third of America’s population believes that Oswald actually committed the crime.
Now what exactly happened, people are still unsure of.  Was Oswald not alone?  Do the trajectory of the bullets match up to Kennedy being shot from the 6th floor of a building, or much lower?   Perhaps was it even set up by mobsters or even the United States own Secret Services?  There are many theories that exist, all being extremely rational, and possibly even the truth of what happened.
The most prominent of the theories states that the assassination was set up by the CIA.  Many refute this idea, thinking that there is no way that the CIA would kill their own president, but the facts do add up.  The CIA had a motive to assassinate JFK for a few reasons, first, CIA agents were scared that JFK would discharge them because of his beliefs, and secondly because of a call for change in the CIA after a failed mission just months prior.  The CIA would even have the ability to set up such an act.  Many may think they wanted it to look like an accident, but the chances of the president dying that way would raise too many suspicions.
These suspicions of the American people will never truly go away for a while, and more and more will continue to be looked into.  The government has said one thing about the accident in the past few years, saying they will release more information about the assassination in 2030, which most likely means that his immediate family will all be dead by.

Barack Obamas March Madness Bracket

Well it is finally that time of year that everyone is always going crazy about, March Madness.  A total of 64 teams battle it out in in 6 rounds of highly intense games of basketball for a chance to be national champions in the largest tournament of the year.  Millions of Americans make their selections before the tournament starts, selecting teams to win each round until and national champion is chosen.  Like previous years, president Obama has made his March Madness bracket selections and choose Michigan State, a number four seed, to win the tournament.  Brackets do take a lot of time, organization, and thought to do, which doesn’t seem like the president of the United States should have time to do.

This year is the 76th consecutive March Madness tournament, and there is just as much madness as ever.  The very first game, that has already been played, already resulted in a large, somewhat unpredicted upset.  Number 11 seeded Dayton University beat number 6 seeded Ohio State University by one point in the last seconds of play.  Obama had picked Ohio State University to win that basketball game and even had them winning in the next round, advancing into the sweet 16.  The games are just getting started and more madness is to come.

Upon looking at Obamas March Madness bracket, I realized a few funny things.  I have almost the same exact teams advancing into the elite eight as the president.  With the exception of number 2 seeded Wisconsin proceeding into the final four, as I have Creighton winning, our brackets look a lot alike.  Florida and Kansas from the south, Michigan state and Villanova from the East, Louisville and Duke in the Midwest, and finally Arizona and Creighton/Wisconsin in the West.

Another thing that struck me in analyzing President Obamas’ bracket is how he would have time to fill out the bracket.  Wouldn’t you think that the president would have more important things to do than take this time to fill out a bracket and then go live talking about his bracket?  But I guess he can make time for it.  With several things that are pushed the presidents way every day, many would believe that he doesn’t have time for activities such as these.  I guess that it is the president’s decision whether or not he does this and they know their priorities.

The Problems with Fast Foods

In today’s world with everyone constantly on the go, and meal times creeping up on you before you know it, people look for the easiest, tastiest, and fastest way to satisfy their hunger.  The easiest thing for anyone to get on the go is fast food, and therefore, unfortunately, this is what most people resort to.  There is not any place that will sell you something somewhat healthy through the drive through if you are on the go, and that’s the problem with society.  Cost also factors in; it is easier to buy a few items off the dollar menu than to go into the supermarket and pick out some healthy foods that will add up to be two, three, or four times what you will pay at a drive through.
From Wendy’s to McDonalds, Burger King, and KFC, Americans are obsessed with fast foods.  So many factors lead Americans overeating these fast foods day in and day out.  The first is its accessibility; it is faster to grab fast food from the drive through than it is to do anything else.  What would take about half an hour or even more to prepare at home, you can pick up on the fly in just a few minutes.  With everyone busy working or a time crunch, this is what most Americans resort to.
Another factor that leads to Americans overeating fast foods is the cost.  The fast food industry is constantly looking for ways to decrease the cost of production and increase their profit.  No matter where you choose to eat at, they are always going to have a meal that will get you buy for about $5, which is great for Americans.  Anyone would rather pay that $5 it takes to buy fast food than the $15+ that is would take to eat a decent meal at their homes.  There are also people who simply can’t afford to pay the high prices for healthy foods that grocery stores are demanding, who must then resort to fast foods.
Another reason why Americans choose fast foods over healthy foods is because they are simply tastier.  Sure there are healthy foods that taste good, but when you can order a large fry or a large tasty burger somewhere that is right around the corner, this is when Americans overdo things.  All of these fasters, as well as fast foods becoming easier to access as these restaurants are rapidly expanding nation and worldwide, are leading to obesity.  There are several ways in which we could put a stop to this, but it is a lot easier said than done.

March Madness

Every year, millions of people all across America enter the brackets into several different pools, hoping to win lots of money.  There are a total of 64 teams each year that make the tournament, forming four different regions from all across the United States.  The teams battle it out in the single game elimination tournament and must win six consecutive games to be named the nation March Madness champions.  There are hundreds of billions of different scenarios that could play out in the tournament, and as always, there are several upsets.
There are many millions of people trying to pick out the perfect bracket, but the odds aren’t even close to being in your favor.  Some companies are so sure that you won’t even come close the filling out a perfect bracket, that if you do, they are offering one BILLION dollars to anyone who can pick the perfect bracket.  This is how sure they are, and how slim the odds are, that no one can statistically come even close to picking the correct bracket.  You are even roughly 5 billion times more likely to win the lottery than you are of picking out the correct bracket.
Like almost any deal, however, there are always some curves, or ways around.  There are 64 teams’ total and 4 regions, making 16 teams per region.  The 16 teams are seeded, 1 to 16, based upon their skill, one being the best.  If you look into the statistics, a 16 seed, who always plays the one seed in the first round, has never lost to a one seed in the history of the NCAA March Madness History.  You can therefore conclude that if you assume that all of the number one seeds will win in the first round, your chances of having a perfect bracket will increase by 128 million, which does come close to even putting a dent in your overall odds, but hey, it helps.
There is always frustration when it comes time for March Madness, but again, when isn’t there people getting frustrated when money is on the line?  There always seems to be several upsets every year.  There is even, occasionally, a time when a 15 seed beats a 2 seed in the first round.  There is also some years where there is almost no upsets, it is all completely based upon probability.  And because every game is based on probability, there is still a slim chance that any team could win a game, and when there is 63 games to be played in total, that’s all any team needs.

Microsoft Office Soon to Come to Apple Products

Used daily by business, students, teachers, and several others every day-Microsoft Office is extremely resourceful to today’s society.  From writing a paper on Microsoft Word to presenting a presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint, the limits are virtually endless.  Now, another everyday device used by everyone as well, may be getting the Microsoft software on their devices.  Apple products such as the iphone and Ipad, may be lucky enough to receive Microsoft software on their products.  This would truly be shooting two birds with one stone, because you will soon be able to type out a paper or record your budgets with the touch of a few buttons on your Apple devices.
Apple users have been waiting for this to come out for several years now.  From having to boot up your whole computer, which can be a huge hassle for many, to being able to open whatever Microsoft application you please with the touch of a button will be extremely helpful to many.  Apple has recently said that they were “Ready to go” however they will not announce when this new update will be taken place.  Could it be on a new software update, like the large one unveiled in the fall of 2013?  Or perhaps it will come out as part of the apps that comes pre downloaded, when the newest version of the iphone comes out.  Whenever it happens do be, many users, including myself, hope it will be relatively soon.
Sever have become frustrated that this new release did not come out sooner that it already has.  One analysts for a magazine called “Singapore Today” stated that Apple has lost 2.5 billion dollars in total already because they have not released this new product earlier.  Taking into consider that there are over 200 million ipads in total, the magazine concluded that Apple could have been smarter and released the product a lot sooner, and therefore made much more money than they already do.
Apple finally did announce in a company blog post, that they will be releasing the product on the apple computer devices, as well as ipads for around $70.  This will be allowed to be used on up to two devices total, and will be called the “Microsoft Office 365”.

Life Outside of Earth

The Milky Way-120,000 light years to travel its length and 12,000 light years from top to bottom.  The only know life in this galaxy is on planet earth.  For years, scientists, psychologists, astronomers, and many more have been debating over one crazy question: Does life exist outside of earth?

We are just a part of a one galaxy, which we have not been able to even come near to exploring the whole Milky Way.  Even in today’s world, with the booming technology and sophisticated machinery, we have not even made a dent in exploring the universe.  In 1969, the very first people made in onto the moon in mission Apollo 11.  Since then, we have made lots of progress technologically, but making it 300,000 miles to the moon is nothing compared to the 40 million miles it takes to get to mars.  Mars is currently the best hope that NASA has of finding life on another planet, because it is one of the closet planets to earth that we have not discovered yet.

Recently, there has been a large debate of a meteor, which supposedly hit planet earth in the Stone Age.  The meteor is said to be full of carbon, and have similar marks on it that microorganisms from earth make while eating through rocks.  Scientists are also saying that they believe that water, a common necessity for life, was covering the surface of mars, hundreds of thousands of years ago in the form of oceans, rivers, and streams, like on earth.  This discovery does not only suggest that there has been life on mars, but comes back to show that life in another galaxy is a reality.

We live in one galaxy, which we don’t even know if life exists on, or has existed on.  NASA has estimated that there are hundreds of millions of galaxies in the universe which never really ends.  If there exists life on our galaxy, the Milky Way, chances are that life exists on others as well.  Life doesn’t mean people who look like us, or even aliens.  It would be extremely fascinating if there was even an organism out there, even the size of bacteria.

Think about it, billions upon billions of galaxies in the universe, more than we can even fathom, odds are that life exists in several hundreds, if not thousands, or maybe even millions of galaxies.  It really is crazy to think about, another being, besides yourself, living out, billions upon billions of light years away from you, thinking about if life exists on another planet, or if they are just alone as well.  They says the sky is the limit, but I say there is no limit.
