Great Problems Arise Early at 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics

With the 2014 Winter Olympics being kicked off Thursday in Sochi, Russia, many have indicated several problems with the games already.  There was still work being done on the games, even on the day the games was set to begin on Thursday!  Many fans and athletes have been complaining about the horrible conditions and organization of the games.  The Russian president believed that by having the games in Sochi that people from all around the world would realize that Russia is not such a bad place and as hostile as it was in the 1900s.  However it looks like things are not going as planned in Sochi.
Fans and athletes from all over the world travel every other year for the winter or summer Olympics.  Many are complaining this year about the horrible conditions and coordination of the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.  One of the first things that were noticed immediately was the road construction that was going on last minute.  Several roads were not even made even a week ago that were still being built days before the games, frustrating fans and athletes of the games by causing a huge halt in traffic.
Several other problems were reported, and there was even a twitter account made called "Sochi Problems", showing pictures of everything that’s wrong with the Olympics in Sochi.  One of these main issues at the Olympics was the hotels the athletes from around the globe were staying in.  If you’re competing in the biggest sporting competitions of the decade, you should get a nice hotel room, right?  Well evidently not.  Pictures of the rooms were getting a lot of buzz, depicting 3 small single beds in each room, with a single night stand between each and almost nothing else in the rooms.  On top of that, there were multiple problems with the restrooms at the hotels.  First off, sink water was a brownish color that did not look the slightest bit sanitary.  Too add to it, they were not allowing people to flush their toilet paper, leaving a small wastebasket by the toilet to leave it in, also very unsanitary.
Yet another problem that has not raised as much concern however is the stray dog problem.  Almost anywhere you go in Sochi there are stray dogs roaming the roads and almost anywhere else you can think of looking for food.  Although most of these dogs aren’t going to be dangerous to spectators but they just are one of the indicators that the country is not fully on top of its game.
