Possible Death Penalty for Leader of Boston Marathon Bombing

Federal prosecutors stated last Thursday that they will try and prosecute Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the leader of the Boston Marathon bombings, on the death penalty.  The final decision was made by Attorney General Eric Holder but wasn’t announced until later in the day on Thursday evening, deciding they would try and put Tsarnaev on death row.  Many people believe that Tsarnaev should be put on death row because he killed 3 and injured over 200 in the bombings, but several are against it.  This leads to one big question that has been floating not just around the nation, but around the world for several generations: should people be put on death row or should they be jailed for the remainder of their lives.
There are several pros and cons to each method, but if you ask almost anybody, you will get a complete different answer and point of view.  Many believe that the death penalty should be legal while several others don’t, thus making it a large topic under debate.  Death row is legal in 32 states and illegal in 18, including the District of Columbia.
Death row is bad for several reasons, and should be abolished in every state.  First off, the suspect won’t have time to face their actual consequences of that they’ve done.  There just getting the easy way out which is painless and doesn’t do a thing to teach them a lesson.  Second of all, we are all entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness under the law.  If someone is being killed for something they did, I don’t see how they’re entitled to life whatsoever.
"After consideration of the relevant facts, the applicable regulations and the submissions made by the defendant’s counsel, I have determined that the United States will seek the death penalty in this matter," was said by Holder late Thursday evening. He continued to say in his statement that “The nature of the conduct at issue and the resultant harm compel this decision”.
Prosecutors believe that Tsarnaev along with his brother Tamerlan who were from Russia but had lived in the Boston area for about a decade, planted two pressure cooker bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. However Tamerlan, the brother, died in a shootout with the police, his brother made it out alive.
The attack was one of the worst the United States has seen since September 11th 2001, when airplanes were hijacked and flown into the twin towers, the pentagon, and lastly was targeted Washington dc.
Seventeen of 30 charges against Tsarnaev carry the possibility of the death penalty which makes it extremely likely that Trarnaev will be charged with the death penalty.  Tsarnaev, who is just 20 years old, has pleaded not guilty and no trial date has been set yet.
